Okay here's the deal. I'm about to order a new laptop (obviously a Dell inspiron 8200). I just wanted to make sure there are drivers available for it and BeOS works on it.
Here are the specs:
Intel® 845 MP chipset/400MHz FSB
Crystal Audio CS4205 audio chipset
Integrated 10/100 NIC and 56k/V92 modem
Internal 8x DVD/24x CD-RW Combo
ATI Radeon 9000 64Mb
TrueMobile Wireless LAN Internal Mini PCI
Plain: I'm pretty much sure there are drivers for it
Underlined: Would be nice if it worked
Bold: Must work
Dell is a very popular brand so I'm sure somebody out there must have tried to boot BeOS on it at least once. I'm not sure what chip Dell is using for their NIC.
Anybody?

Here you go
http://www.frizbe.net (BeOS 5.0 compatible hardware list)
http://www.yellowtab.com/hardware.php (Hardware supported in Zeta, not complete)
For drivers, check www.bedrivers.com and www.bebits.com

Thank you but I was looking for people with experience with this laptop... My current laptop a Dell 7000 works just fine with BeOS but I had to goto extensive lengths to get the correct hardware and even then I had some problems.
These laptops are sold all around the world and all come with the same hardware... so I guess atleast somebody should've tried to install BeOS on it.

I didn't lookup all your hardware in the lists that Aphex posted but I think that a few are untested and it is unlikely that all of it will work. Fribe does list a lot of users machines and laptops seem to give fits to beos as you will see. Since Dell doesn't have a store anywhere you can't test drive it. You might have to send it back. IBM's seem to have the most sucessefull installs.
