Computer video (www.computervideo.net) has made an 5 pages review of the BeOS-based one-box video editor Edirol DV-7.
The system runs BeOS, without the Deskbar and the Tracker, and Edirol's own produced video editing software called Video Canvas DV-7 version 1.5.
One item of the review that was noted as their mention of OBOS, which according to the reviewer aims to "continue the revolution started by Be Inc". Nice
An interesting read, and an important exposition of Edirol's work and BeOS. Like they say, any publicity is good publicity.
For Edirol's DV-/R site head over to http://www.edirol.com/products/info/dv7/index.html

This would be good to have in a advertisement site for OBOS.

Has anyone written and asked if they would market video editing software to fill the void left by personalStudio?

Has anyone asked to license the source for ver 2 for beos from personal studio and continue it,
or even sign a contract to sell it as is, and provide all support for it?

Datatec, Edirol aren't the makers of pS, Adamation is. After they announced the drop of BeOS support, some asked them if they could share pS 1.5 which they refused. So they keep it, and i doubt they'll let everyone develop it, so i think you asking them for it would be quite useless.

I've asked them, but had no reply...
So if anyone else wants it too, give them a mail.
Also, I think pS 3.0 requires Quicktime 5.0, something we don't have...

First considering the hardware not too bad, Secondly XP is also supposed to be mediaOS it takes about 120sec to boot on a fast machine, I have heard no complaints.
I would love to try the second link but seem to need a password
Personally I have found people seem to accept what is given. So if they are told it can load a robust powerfull enviroment in only 90 seconds they are happy.
