openBeOS is hosting a public Question & Answer session for this coming Ssaturday, and is inviting anyone interested in their progress, or just has a curious nature to attend.

The full skinny:

When : Saturday, July 6th, 2002 at 1900 (7pm) EST, 2400 GMT.
Where : IRC Server : irc.openprojects.net -- Channel: #obos_q&a
Why : To involve the BeOS Community, and to talk directly with the Developers.

Be there, or be square. icon_wink.gif

Are developers going to be on hand all day or is there a specific time frame when people can expect a quicker response to their questions?

I hate to sound ignorant, but.... icon_rolleyes.gif

How do I get on IRC? I've never done it and am not even sure what it is. I'm assuming that BeOS has a program to do it?

First of all, you're quite welcome Technix icon_smile.gif

Now, onto Reddog's question, and it's ok to ask, if you don't know how will you learn unless you ask?

First head over to http://www.bebits.com and download Vision, in my opinion BeOS' best IRC client. Then just configure it. You can add networks (as many as you can) on the Network Setupt. To join this specific room (channel), the server you want it irc.sorcery.net and when you connect to it write this:
/join #obos_q&q and voilá, you're there. That /join channel is the same for every channel and for every network, undernet, efnet, ptnet, openprojects, etc etc. One tip, if you want to see how many nets and servers there are, head over to http://www.mirc.co.uk and download the servers list.

Hope this helps. If you want more tips, why not head over to BeShare?

DaaT

TBJ will be willing to host / show the FAQ if someone is willing to keep an IRC log for us.

I won't be able to make it. Can someone let me know if they can be there, and keep notes? Thanks.
