Yes, i'm back. I took a two week vacation from work, with the 2nd also being a vacation from computers... stop all that screaming, it was great And now, for something completely different:
These guys don't stop... Xentronix has updated their site again, this time with not only Refratcion status update but also with a request. First, they ask for more beta testers, in their own words

we are in need for some motivated and reliable beta-testers who are not only willing to test the program, but who also can add to the design issues. |

As the update, some great and good news. First the great: Refraction now doesn't crash anymore on Dano (you can see a screenshot here http://www.xentronix.com/news_images/dano14072002.jpg) . It was a mistake done by Be in R5's BSlider, which was fixed in Dano (which had a new app_Server as you might know). The good news are, not only are they fixing things but also adding new ones, as filters and tools.
Frans and YNOP are awesome in their coding! Keep it up guys. It's definitely on my "TO BUY" list.

I have Refracton beta 5 and would love to report on any issues I encounter using it, but I would hate to submit something stupid and/or incomplete. Could someone post a sample bug report that would be useful and informative?

Feel free to post just about anything here. It won't be considered "stupid" or strange.
Any feedback you can pass onto the Refraction team is a bonus... it helps them find those obscure bugs all the quicker.
I'm positive that they are reading this forum, and will comment too... (psst.... that's your cue..
So, by all means, go ahead and post something, whether it's informative or not. That's what the forums are for.

Oh, just remember, if it crashes, get the stack crawl. To do so, click on Debugger when the crash happens, then a Terminal opens and the program loads symbols. After, at the prompt type sc and hit Enter.
Copy everything from the top and mail the guys.
Take care,
DaaT

Off course we are reading this forum and post replies.
The things we would love the see in a bug report:
- a stack-crawl. If you get a crash, BeOS askes if you want more info.
In the details, you can got to the debugger. This opens a terminal.
Then you type 'sc' and send us the output.
- It would be great if you could add a close description of how the crash
occured and if it is reproducable
- If uncommon, we would like system specs
- Important: BeOS version running.
Regards,
Frans van Nispen.
