I have just finished reading about the CUBE game engine.
It is open source, and it is written with Simple DirectMedia Layer. The Simple DirectMedia Layer web site says:
"Simple DirectMedia Layer supports Linux, Windows, BeOS, MacOS Classic, MacOS X, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, BSD/OS, Solaris, and IRIX"
If ZETA will support OpenGL, will this game/game-engine work?

I wish Bernd would answer my question about the best Zeta hardware so I can start saving for something like this...

I know that the Radeon 9500 has openGL support in Zeta now.
In fact, most of the Radeon line is now supported fully in Zeta, so you might consider that when you go shopping.

If this game and/or game engine will in fact work under BeOS, then I think it will be a very good thing. (This game/engine has fully functioning online/multiplayer capability as well).
In addition, I have been toying with the idea of trying to make games. I would be far more interested in making a game for Be, as opposed to Windows, because such a game would be far more appreciated and perhaps stand out more, instead of being "just another game" in the vast sea of Windows games.
I hope other budding or seasoned game/mod developers will feel the same way as well.
Also, hopefully such a game could be compiled for all or most of the OS's listed. (I know very little about such things, so perhaps someone who knows more could enlighten me).

Am I old-fashioned or not, but it still wonders me if people upgrade their OS's just to get an excuse to buy a new machine... Most of my machines are from the late gone millenium and for Gods sake I'm not going to buy a fourth machine just to run Zeta with or without OpenGL.

And how about the oldies, the "DOS glory", the "youth sentiment", the "sweet stuff". The not-yet-ported Rise Of The Triad is a good one. Have also played lots of arcade games again lately, and currently also getting luna about "Screamer" (yeah, the racing game with the cool music) again. Not to forget Grand Theft Auto (part 1), which has like the best looking lo-res (8 bit) version of all games I've ever seen.
I should really start putting together that DOS box some time soon...
"Aw man, ain't it beautiful how perfect, pasturized and flawless..."
